Progress on our local environment initiative with Lichfield District Council

At the start of the year, we announced that we are part of a local initiative supporting Lichfield District Council to improve the waterways at Beacon Park in our home City of Lichfield. This is part of our hands on commitment to environmental management and sustainability.

We are very happy to present the progress that has since been made. A coir roll has been successfully installed in the main pool as can be seen in the pictures below. These are an effective erosion and water-quality control and will provide an immediate benefit to the wildlife habitat. After visiting the site this weekend (24/06/2023), we have noticed a significant and tangible benefit to the cleanliness of the water. You can now see the bottom of the stream which will support and encourage more wildlife for which the community can enjoy. Most importantly, the project will help to prevent flooding within the park.
